Neuropathies and Nerve Pain
There are so many different causes of neuropathy and there are numerous ways neuropathies present. In a nutshell, the nerve is degenerating and the ability for it to do its necessary job is affected. The degeneration is progressive and will continue if not addressed appropriately. The pain more often than not, is secondary to the nerves that normally inhibit pain degenerating. The longer this goes on the harder it is to address. The KEY is that we need to address as many of the causes as we can, along with appropriately healing the nerve through established active and passive methods.
Attain Health Omaha’s treatment point of view:
If there is still some life in the nerve then it can be improved upon. We will “exercise” it, care for it and provide nutrition directly to the source in order to repair and rejuvenate the nerve. This is exactly why we have been so successful with this difficult condition. This treatment is called Combined Electrochemical Therapy (CET) and has been studied for over 20 years. Once we combined this technology with active neuro-rehabilitation techniques as well as other neuropathy treatments (like vibration & laser), we found a significant response with people suffering from neuropathy across the board. Several of the studies have demonstrated greater than 70% success rate. We are definitely seeing that and then some because the studies solely focus on the CET and haven’t even included the nutrition, supplementation, additional treatments and the neuro-rehabilitation we employ.
How is this CET treatment different than other pain clinics?
Attain Health Omaha offers a FDA approved system of electric cell-signaling stimulation, electromagnetic frequencies (PEMF) combined with a Pharmaceutical Grade Nutrient Blend for relief of chronic pain and in most cases, regrowth of healthy nerves. Other pain clinics use pain medicines, and variations of TENS that run off of a 9 volt battery; all of these only treat the symptoms of pain and have not been shown to encourage nerve regrowth.
The neoGEN® system is a state-of-the-art, technically-innovative patented medical device for producing Electric cell-Signaling energy waves (EcST and ESI). The system is used to successfully treat circulatory issues, all types of acute and chronic pain, long-term (intractable) pain, and drug-resistant pain. This system also offers specific-parameter signaling for effective neuromuscular reeducation, muscle strengthening, and relaxation of muscle spasm activity. It is truly amazing to see the results we see on the regular!

have to say about the treatments and their successes:

What happens in the initial consultation?
In your first appointment we’ll take a full medical history, test things like foot sensorium and reflexes, and determine if you have large or small nerve fiber damage. We’ll also review any recent lab work, give you an overview of the treatment program and answer any questions you may have. At a follow up visit after our team has assessed your file, we’ll review our findings with you and if you are a qualified candidate, you can start your first treatment session. At that time, we will go over all of the recommendations with you in detail.
How long does the treatment take?
Every patient is different and your treatment plan will be customized to your level of pain and extent of nerve damage. However, we frequently place each patient on a 12-16 week program at 2 sessions a week initially and then reduce to once per week as the patient improves. Each session lasts about 30-60 minutes and is administered in our clinic.
How quickly will I start to feel results?
Most patients experience the beginnings of pain relief after the first 3-4 sessions, but it’s important to keep in mind that every patient is unique. The vast majority (over 85%!) of our patients report a significant reduction in pain on the pain scale. Not uncommonly from 9 or 10 down to 1 or even 0.
Are there any medical studies for this treatment?
Yes. This treatment protocol has been the subject of multiple scientific research studies and been around for 20+ years. 87% of patients experience a significant improvement in symptoms, if not complete relief. Additionally, research shows those who have pre and post skin biopsies have increased nerve fiber density and nerve rejuvenation. “The CET treatment has significantly reduced the pain in my thigh and knee. I used to get nerve twinges, sometimes sharp stabbing and other times a constant ache and now I don’t notice these happening except in a rare instance. I work with children and can once again. I’m happy to say that I can sit comfortably on the floor with them and help with their activities. I can sit comfortably in different kinds of chairs and can kneel down without pain. This is all huge for me. It feels like I have most of my ‘normal’ life back!” Chris E.

“I now drive, the pain has decreased and I seldom use a walker. I’m more mobile, my mood is better and I can plan better for future events.” Michael L.

“I feel a 100% better. I’m back to normal, before all of this. I sleep better, go on walks as well as I’m able to play with my grandkids and my dogs!” Cindy T.
